Access, closures, permits & safety
From day-use parking, follow the Pony Express Trail east past the Main and Central walls to the East Wall approach. Use the sector guide to identify the correct cliff or boulder and stay on established access paths.
Use the Lovers Leap day-use access or signed legal roadside spaces. Do not park on Strawberry Court; check day-use pass terms before arrival.
CRAGS lists current falcon restrictions affecting Rated X, Eagle Buttress and Hourglass routes. Avoid those routes and check current Forest Service and CRAGS notices for changes.
The Leap has tall granite walls and many multipitch trad climbs. Verify route, protection, descent and partner communication before leaving the ground.
Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
