Essential crag checks
Access, closures, permits & safety
From Big Meadow parking follow the paved access road through the metal gate to the Tahoe Rim Trail map. Cross the footbridge, then take the maintained left branch toward the spires; the guide estimates 30–40 minutes of uphill walking.
Use the Big Meadow Trailhead parking on Highway 89 near Luther Pass, with its restroom. Only use roadside turnouts where currently permitted and keep the trailhead entrance and gate clear.

About this crag
Use its footbridge and maintained trail rather than the retired log crossing and steep slab approach. Local tourism information independently identifies climbing at Luther Spires; individual route protection still needs checking.
