Access, closures, permits & safety
The Quarry is below the Kiosk at Wellington Dam and the main parking area. Rock climbing and abseiling are available by booking only; contact the Collie Parks and Wildlife Office on (08) 9735 1988 before travel to confirm access.
Use the main Wellington Dam parking area above the quarry; designated accessible parking is available. Keep the quarry approach and operational access clear, and note that there are no toilets at the climbing site.
Climbing and abseiling access requires an advance booking. Pets are prohibited, and DBCA conducts ongoing 1080 baiting in and around the area; check current park alerts and comply with all site signs before entering.
1080 meat baits are poisonous to humans and fatal to domestic cats and dogs; do not touch or disturb bait. Plan the quarry session carefully, consider carrying a personal locator beacon and manage rockfall and rope zones so visitors remain clear of climbers above.
