Access, closures, permits & safety

Access

Book rock climbing or abseiling in advance with the Mundaring Parks and Wildlife Office on (08) 9290 6100, Monday–Friday 8:30 am–4:00 pm. The office provides the controlled gate-access code after the booking is accepted.

Parking

Use the designated Mountain Quarry parking shown inside the booked site and keep the controlled gate and access route clear. Greenmount National Park entry is free, and a non-flush drop toilet is available at the site.

Permits & access rules

Entry for climbing or abseiling is unavailable without an advance booking and gate code. Camping and pets are not permitted; check DBCA park alerts before travel because controlled access may change.

Safety

Plan the visit before departure and consider carrying a personal locator beacon because it can materially assist a rescue. Use climbing and abseiling equipment appropriate to the quarry environment and remain clear of parties operating above or below.

Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
