Access, closures, permits & safety
Access the designated rock-climbing and abseiling area from Climbers Track off Norton Summit Road, between First and Third Falls. Use the official climbing-zone maps to stay within the mapped sectors.
Only limited parking is available on the southern side of Norton Summit Road near the climbing access. For the main walking-trail precinct, use the official car park or park at the Morialta Road entrance and walk 800 m beside the creek.
Vehicle gates are normally open 6:30 am–7:00 pm, extended to 9:00 pm during daylight saving, and are closed on Christmas Day. The park closes on Catastrophic Fire Danger days and may also close on Extreme Fire Danger days.
Existing fixed protection and rock surfaces are not guaranteed, and loose rock may fall. Use appropriate precautions, prefer holdfasts over trees for anchors, protect any tree that must be used, and climb with a qualified trainer if skills are insufficient.
