Access, closures, permits & safety
Follow the Domestic Dome Area approach and identify the main dome rather than nearby boulders. Use the sector guide to identify the correct cliff or boulder and stay on established access paths.
Use a signed Icicle Road turnout or designated trailhead. The Forest Service describes a recreation pass requirement for parking in the watershed; confirm the current pass and roadside rules.
The 2025 Icicle area emergency closure was rescinded. Seasonal raptor protection can affect Bridge Creek Wall; check current Forest Service notices and keep outside any posted exclusion.
Icicle granite ranges from bouldering to multi-pitch cracks and slabs. Verify the route, landing or protection, and descent; keep clear of loose rock and swift water.
Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
