Essential crag checks

Access, closures, permits & safety

Access

From the top of Cathedral Ledge, follow the summit-side path south toward the midway ledge between the Lower Left Wall and Barber Wall; alternatively approach by an appropriate lower-wall climb. Confirm the chosen route and descent in a climbing guide.

Parking

Parking capacity, fees and road access can change. Confirm current conditions before departure.

Closures

The state park is normally open for recreation unless a posted closure applies. In the off-season the road gate may be shut and comfort stations unavailable; park staffing ends October 31 in the published schedule.

Permits & access rules

Safety

The specialist guide describes cracks up to nearly 200 feet and mixed or runout routes. Plan rope length, protection and a descent suitable to the particular line; winter ice can change the climbing character.

Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.

About this crag

Its traditional cracks and mixed lines stand above a midway ledge; some routes are substantially longer than an ordinary single pitch. The state park remains available for recreation unless posted closed, but off-season gates, staffing and toilets differ from summer operations.

Recommended equipment

Bring equipment appropriate to the climbing style and local conditions. A helmet is strongly recommended.
