Access, closures, permits & safety
Within the Stawamus Chief climbing complex, use the published sector guide and established climber approach rather than assuming the summit hiking route reaches this face.
Use designated Chief day-use parking; BC Parks enforces no-parking signs and may tow illegally parked vehicles.
BC Parks can post route-specific peregrine closures, generally during March–July. Check notices before committing to a route.
Rockfall and exposed granite are real hazards at the Chief; inspect the approach, protection and descent.
Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
