Essential crag checks

Access, closures, permits & safety

Access

When the upper Kaymoor Miners Trail is closed Monday–Thursday from June 15 through November 19, reach the Kaymoor Mine site via the Kaymoor Trail from Fayette Station Road or the Craig Branch Trail. The stairs below the Kaymoor Trail remain open.

Parking

Cunard Road is open April–October with a one-lane section and possible delays. From November through March it closes below the Brooklyn Mine Trail parking lot, removing road access to the river.

Permits & access rules

Current NPS closures include the damaged Rend Trail bridge, Keeney's Creek above Conveyor Trail and a slide-affected section of Kates Plateau Trail. The upper Kaymoor Miners Trail closes Monday–Thursday from June 15 through November 19.

Safety

Do not cross the damaged Rend Trail bridge or the dangerous slide closure on Kates Plateau Trail. Road and trail conditions can change with weather; check the current NPS closure table before departure.

Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
