Access, closures, permits & safety

Access

At the Route 33/55 junction, use the visitor-centre area and Roy Gap Road approach for South Peak. The established creek crossing and steps lead toward the South End/West Face; the Southern Pillar approach continues farther along Roy Gap Road.

Parking

The specialist guide identifies upper and lower visitor-centre parking for the Roy Gap approach; the lower lot is closer. Follow posted parking rules and keep roads clear.

About this crag

East and west faces give different sun exposure. Routes have exposed ledges and demanding traditional grades; prepare a route-specific descent and a rack rather than expecting a bolted sport-climbing venue.

Recommended equipment

Bring equipment appropriate to the climbing style and local conditions. A helmet is strongly recommended.
