Essential crag checks

Access, closures, permits & safety

Access

Travel south from Hamilton for about ten miles, then turn onto Lost Horse Road. Continue past Lost Horse Resort to the established pullouts serving the canyon's climbing areas.

Parking

Use the established Lost Horse Road pullouts beyond the resort, leaving the road and property entrances clear. Do not treat an informal parking pullout as permission to create a new campsite.

Permits & access rules

Safety

Camp only at established sites as directed by the specialist guide. Pack out rubbish and plan human-waste removal, including suitable waste bags for remote areas away from facilities.

Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
