Follow existing trails from the named Calico Basin or Scenic Drive access point; use a sector map for the final approach.
Use established BLM lots or legal roadside spaces; never park on vegetation. Scenic Drive entry needs a timed reservation from October through May between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Do not climb sandstone during or soon after rain; check current BLM access and Scenic Drive hours before departure.
Fragile wet sandstone, heat and exposed approaches are serious hazards; inspect protection and carry sufficient water.
Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
