Essential crag checks

Access, closures, permits & safety

Access

Take the park’s Grand Doug Trail from the Smoke Bluffs network. Use the named-sector guide to locate Grand Doug; avoid unofficial shortcuts and check signs at the final approach.

Parking

Use the climbers’ lot off Loggers Lane, not residential streets; the District’s climbing courtesy code asks visitors to use the toilets and keep noise down near homes.

Permits & access rules

Follow the municipal park trail system and respect private-property edges, signs and neighbors; camping in the park is prohibited. Confirm current notices at the site before climbing.

Safety

Most Smoke Bluffs routes are short granite climbs, but protection, anchors and top access vary by cliff. Inspect equipment and keep clear of people below.

Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
