Access, closures, permits & safety
From the Lily Lake parking area on Highway 7, use the Lily Ridge approach described in the climbing guide for Dinosaur's Foot. Stay on established paths to limit erosion.
Lily Lake is an outlying Rocky Mountain National Park parking area. From May 22 through October 12, 2026, a timed-entry reservation is required for arrivals 9 a.m.–2 p.m.; display the reservation on the dashboard and carry a valid park entrance pass.
NPS planning material identifies the Lily Lake parking area as access to Jurassic Park and US Forest Service lands. Check current park entry rules, signs and land boundaries before the final approach; do not use a closed route or cross private property.
Jurassic Park sits around 9,400 feet. Afternoon storms, loose ground and older fixed hardware are possible; check weather and inspect anchors before climbing.
Closures and permit rules can change without notice. Recheck the official land manager before departure.
